Our Department
Home to some of the world’s experts in neuroscience, the Department of Neuroscience faculty lead influential research programs in addiction, psychiatric disorders, , brain aging, neurodegenerative diseases, neural control of breathing, brain and spinal cord injury, and brain cancer. Our faculty work at every level of analysis spanning from the single molecule to brain circuits to behavior. Through fundamental and translational research, our faculty seek to promote brain health and improve outcomes in those suffering from neurological disease and injury.
A Spirit of Collaboration
Our department and the broader UF neuroscience community is highly collaborative and is a fertile training ground for students at all academic levels who are passionate about the study of the nervous system. Students training in our graduate programs can choose mentors from among our primary faculty or from a host of basic science and clinical faculty across the UF academic health center.
