Research in neuroimmunology explores the complex interactions between the nervous system and the immune system and how these interactions influence brain health and disease.
Faculty investigate the role of immune cells within the central nervous system and examine how neuroinflammation contributes to neurological disorders, including multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. These studies aim to uncover mechanisms through which immune responses influence neural function, repair and plasticity. Understanding these relationships may lead to new therapeutic targets that strengthen brain resilience and treat neurological disease.
