
Research in integrative physiology and behavior examines how neural circuits interact with physiological systems to regulate behavior.
Faculty investigate how brain activity integrates with hormonal signaling, metabolism and other bodily systems to shape responses such as stress, feeding, reproduction and social interaction. Researchers use approaches including behavioral analysis, neuroimaging and physiological measurement to understand how physiological states influence cognition, emotion and decision-making. These studies provide insight into mental health, addiction and disorders involving disruptions in physiological regulation.
