Dr. Nina Kraus presenting “Music, The Brain & Aging” — December 5, 2013

On Thursday, December 5th Dr. Nina Kraus, Hugh Knowles Professor, at Northwestern University and director of the Auditory Neuroscience Laboratory, will be presenting a special seminar at the McKnight Brain Institute on "Music, the Brain and Aging". Dr. Kraus has pioneered the use of a biological approach that reveals how auditory signals are encoded by a hub of cognitive and sensory influences. With this scalp-electrode approach, the fidelity of the brain’s encoding of sound can be evaluated. And it is possible to assess the impact of experience on the neural encoding of sound.
