Research Focus
1. Decipher neural circuits that control appetite, and energy balance
2. Identify signals produced by fat cells that act in the brain to control weight gain, blood glucose, energy expenditure ,cardiovascular function and bone growth
3. Identify brain sites vulnerable to environment and metabolic insults leading to diseases, such as abnormal rate of weight gain, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular ailments
4. Evaluate Gene Therapy in the brain to correct metabolic diseases
