We are delighted to welcome Dr. Zachary Strickland, who joins the department as a new instructional assistant professor.

He received his B.A. in Neuroscience, Biology, and Religion from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, where he trained under Dr. Jada Lewis. In his graduate training, Dr. Strickland studied tau protein biology in the regenerative axolotl salamander and other novel model systems for tauopathies. Dr. Strickland was supported as a trainee by the Clinical and Translational T32 in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias training grant. In his new role, Dr. Strickland will work primarily with our expanding online neuroscience graduate programs.
Originally from Minnesota, Zachary enjoys staying active through recreational sports and the outdoors, particularly ultimate frisbee and cycling, and teaching himself recipes from around the world. He is excited to move into this new role in the UF Neuroscience community and looks forward to building new collaborations and connecting with students and colleagues.
