Welcoming GATORAADE postbaccalaureate trainees

The Department of Neuroscience is pleased to welcome its newest GATORAADE postbaccalaureate trainees: Maria Bolanos, Kristen Engasser, Taylor Floyd, Ishrat Khan, and Gina Ricci.

The GATORAADE Program (Gators Advancing Through Opportunities in Research for Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Education) is a National Institutes of Health (NIH)–funded initiative designed to prepare postbaccalaureate scholars for advanced study and careers in neuroscience, with an emphasis on aging and Alzheimer’s disease research. The program provides participants with hands-on laboratory experience, structured coursework through a graduate certificate in neuroscience, and comprehensive professional development opportunities.

Over the course of the program, trainees will work closely with faculty mentors while building the research, academic, and professional skills necessary for success in graduate school and beyond.

The department is excited to welcome this cohort and looks forward to their contributions to the neuroscience community.
