We are delighted to announce that Alyssa Mickle has been selected as a 2024-2026 Graduate Student Ambassador for the American Physiological Society! This prestigious role is a testament to Alyssa’s dedication, hard work, and outstanding contributions to the field of physiology.
As part of the GSA program, Alyssa will engage in a variety of impactful activities, including:
- Attendance at the APS annual meeting;
- Training to enhance knowledge of APS programs, membership benefits, leadership, and presentation skills;
- Local/regional outreach visits at her local institution, presenting the importance of involvement in professional societies, promoting APS programs and awards, encouraging involvement in APS chapters and meetings, particularly to underrepresented, diverse groups of students, and sharing information about professional skill training courses;
- Mentoring the incoming GSA cohort;
- Building leadership, communication, and outreach skills.
