Sabrina Zequeira places 2nd in 3MT competition

Sabrina Zequeira, a graduate student in the lab of Drs. Bizon and Setlow, has placed 2nd in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools in Tampa on March 4. The 3MT is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland, Australia that challenges graduate students to succinctly summarize their research for non-specialist audience in three minutes or less.

Zequeira qualified for the Southern Graduate Conference competition after placing first in UF’s competition in November sponsored by the Graduate School. The 2nd place finish came with a $500 prize.

Zequeira will go on to present her winning 3MT, “Cannibis and the Aging Brain”, at the national competition in Washington D.C.
