This year, Brain Awareness Week was held March 15-19th through an entirely virtual format. Working with the Alachua County school system, lessons incorporated age-appropriate brain information with accompanying activities. These include making a pipe cleaner neuron or brain hat for the younger students, 5 brain tricks and the 5 senses, and a neuroanatomy activity for the older students.
We also teamed up with the UF BRAIN Center this year to promote brain safety and the importance of wearing a helmet. The UF BRAIN Center has donated helmets for give-aways as part of the UF Helmet Safety Initiative.
