The Thomas H. Maren Junior Investigators Fund provides seed money for promising postdoctoral fellows in the College of Medicine. The award amount is $25,000 per year for two years (2nd year contingent on 1st year progress).

The purpose of the Thomas H. Maren Junior Investigators Endowed Research Fund is to fund supports for junior investigators in the College of Medicine with the talents and inclinations to pursue a career of scientific discovery. The fund also provides supplemental funding for promising post-doctoral fellows research projects in the College of Medicine as a transition to scientific independence.

Dr. Maren established this fund geared towards the College of Medicine in 2006. After becoming a medical doctor, he spent the majority of his career conducting research at the University of Florida, where his discoveries paved the way for the development of new drugs to treat heart and kidney disease, brain fluid disorders and altitude sickness.
