Congratulations Kalene Jasso on new NIH predoctoral fellowship

kalene announcementKalene Jasso was awarded a new individual predoctoral fellowship from NIH entitled “The Role of MCHR1 Signaling in Olfactory Function”.   The goal of this project is to increase our understanding of mechanisms that modulate the sense of smell. The project will investigate the role of the melanin-concentrating hormone receptor (MCHR1) in mediating the influences of the lateral hypothalamus on how the olfactory bulb responds to chemical stimuli. Kalene is a graduate student in Dr. Jeremy McIntyre’s laboratory and her project is sponsored by Dr.  McIntyre and Dr. Jen Bizon.
