On March 1, 2013 Dr. Gerry Shaw, Professor in the Department of Neuroscience, retired after 27 years as a faculty member in the University of Florida College of Medicine. In addition to his significant contributions to the research field of neuronal cytoskeleton, in particular the neurofilament proteins, he has played an essential part in the teaching missions of the College of Medicine and the Health Science Center. In retirement Dr. Shaw wishes to continue some of his ongoing research collaborations and service committments.
