Dr. Michael Lane receives NIH R01 award

“Optimizing functional recovery following cervical spinal cord injury” is the title of Dr. Michael Lane’s NIH grant proposal for which he received a five-year R01 award.  The Project period is September 2012-2016.

Dr. Lane received his PhD in Pharmacology in 2004 from the University of Melbourne, Australia under the mentorship of Dr. Normal Saunders. In 2005 Dr. Lane joined the laboratory of Dr. David Howells in the Department of Medicine at the University of Melbourne working as a Postdoctoral Research Officer. Subsequently, in 2006 Dr Lane was recruited to the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Florida as a Postdoctoral Researcher under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Reier. Based on his excellent research progress and contributions to the academic missions of the department, Dr. Lane was promoted to Research Assistant Professor in 2009.
